Meet the Introvert of Our Turkey Flock

Freyja and her flock were raised on a farm where they were considered companions. When their guardian passed away, his wife kept his promise to keep the animals safe—and while she couldn’t care for them, she made sure they came to us at Farm Sanctuary.

So, it was acts of love and loyalty that brought Freyja to us, and she has since found more love in a tight-knit trio with Brunnhilde and Roberto turkeys. These three pals like to spend their days side by side, foraging together quietly or lounging in the barn they have all to themselves. Don’t call this introverted bird “anti-social;” she just enjoys her own company and the company of her dearest friends.
