With National Dog Month coming up in August, we wanted to share dog-friendly offerings at Viceroy Snowmass and where to take your fur babies in the Snowmass area.
Viceroy Snowmass offers special amenities for pups through their VIPets program. Upon arrival, your pet will be greeted with a bag containing a leash, doggie bags, and house-made organic dog treats. In your room, you’ll find a dog bed and food and water bowls (upon request and based on availability). Treats are available to order through room service and dog walking can be locally sourced by the concierge. Viceroy Snowmass takes it one step further with their very own house dog, Vi, a Bernese Mountain Dog that can be found on the property welcoming guests, leading hikes and hosting a dog-friendly “Yappy Hour”
Outside the hotel, the pet-friendly hospitality continues. Dogs are welcome to ride the gondolas up Aspen Mountain and Snowmass Ski Area free of charge, unlocking even more activities for pets. On the mountain, Elk Camp Cafe is a perfect spot to enjoy a meal with your pup by your side, and Pastores Taste of Philly offers a walk-up window for convenient dining with a leash in hand.
For some exercise, the Upper Hunter Creek Trail in White River National Forest is a popular trail that meanders through lush forests and cascading creeks and can even extend into Smugglers trail. If a long hike isn’t in the cards, visit Wagner Park (aka “Dog Park”) or Rio Grande Park for a game of fetch or even allow a playdate with other visiting pups. After they’re worn out, cool off in the Roaring Fork River or the pond near Rio Grande park before heading back to Viceroy Snowmass for a well-deserved organic treat.
